Up on the blog today is Kathy Hillam from a farm near Albert in NSW. Kathy has created this great card using our Tile background die & Cosmic Shimmer – Shimmer Shakers. What a great effect!

Kathy’s has written this little bit about herself. I love it!

My name is Kathy Hillam. I live on a farm near Albert and work full time in Tullamore. I started scrapbooking late last year and I was NEVER going to bother with cards. Famous last words. I finished my first album during the COVID lockdown school holidays earlier this year and thought what’s next. With my friend Nadine I started messing (literally) around with shimmer powders for making backgrounds for cards. I love that you never quite know what you will get at the end and then how you will use it. I love the bright and cheerful colours and that every card is different. I used the Curly Sue cover die from Snazzi Scrappin on a light weight black card, 120gsm, with Jac tape on the back. I love the effect of the black on the bright background. I have been experimenting with inking over an embossed stamped background. Nadine and a couple of friends and I tried shaker cards oh my goodness that double sided foam tape is sticky! Poor Jeddy the cat even wore some! I think that we are so lucky to have Snazzi Scrappin’ and Michelle so close and handy. I never leave her store empty handed and always have a multitude of questions, which she can answer.thanks for the opportunity to share my love of craft.
